The indoor facility will be
located between the second tee box and the fourth fairway. Our Grounds Superintendent, Rob Wilmans, has
reviewed and approved the proposed location and plan for construction to ensure
that there will be no negative impact on the golf course. The facility will be a permanent steel
structure allowing for doors and ventilation and will be covered by a heavy PVC
fabric that will withstand all types of weather. Below are the renderings for the facility.
In order to
preserve the current dues structure for our membership and avoid a special
assessment, a Tennis Membership with no other Club privileges, will be
established. More information will be available in a future blog post. Revenue generated from the
Tennis Membership, and court rental fees, will create a revenue stream
sufficient to service the debt and costs of operating the facility. Tennis Members, Athletic Members, and Social
Members will pay court rental fees for indoor courts, but Athletic and Social
Members pay a lesser fee and have priority in reservations. With the closure of Centre Court Tennis Club,
there will be only one other viable provider of indoor tennis courts on the
entire Peninsula, and its facility is limited.
The indoor tennis facility has already generated interest in JRCC from
prospective new members!
